OLIVE JAPAN International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition is one of the premier olive oil competitions in the world, bringing together the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in awarding medals to the best oils from around the globe.

This is the seventh year of OLIVE JAPAN International Competition, Japan as the one of the most important market for olive oil in the world. The judges are invited from key major olive oil production countries and Japan, under recommendation by the Olive Oil Sommelier Association of Japan. (OSAJ)

This Competition will be held as a key program in the “OLIVE JAPAN 2018” and PREMIER and other Awards winners will be prized at the main event of the OLIVE JAPAN SHOW in June, and will be carried by major papers and trade magazines. The competition is committed to educating the public about extra virgin olive oil, featuring industry experts with extensive knowledge about selection, tasting and food pairings.

OLIVE JAPAN International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition and its panel of tasters invite you to participate in the seventh annual competition open to extra virgin olive oils and flavored olive oils throughout the world. In the 2017 Competition, OLIVE JAPAN had total 611 olive oil submitted from 21 countries and 411 olive oil got awarded.

The Competition Winners will be announced on this website after April 25th, 2018.

3. SHIPPING
International Extra Virgin Olive Oil will be received from now and until no later than April 13th, 2018. Shipments will be received weekdays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. All olive oil entered MUST BE SHIPPED PREPAID. All samples should be packed with the confirmation e-mail of your entry on the inside and the name of the producer marked clearly on the outside. An entry shall consist of at least three (3) 500ml/750ml bottles/tins per entry (if bottles/tins contain more than 1,000 ml please send two (2) bottles/tins, if bottles/tins contain less than 250/200 ml please send four (4) bottles/tins, and if bottles/tins contain less than 150/100 ml please send six(6) bottles/tins).

The OLIVE JAPAN International Extra Olive Oil Competition will acknowledge receipt of olive oil. The OLIVE JAPAN International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition is not responsible for any shipping or customs charges. A licensed broker with applicable importing licenses must clear international shipments of olive oil. If you have an importer it is best to use your own importer.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS REQUIRE:
SAMPLE WAIVER All sample shipments to JAPAN must be clearly decrared as “SAMPLE, NO COMMERCIAL VALUE, NOT FOR SALE” in the applicable commercial invoices and pro-forma invoices and the packing list attached with the samples.
YOU MUST DESIGNATE THAT YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR ALL JAPANESE CUSTOMS CHARGES ON YOUR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING DOCUMENTS OR AIRWAY BILL if your documents should not be properly prepared. The OLIVE JAPAN International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition and the Olive Oil Sommelier Association of Japan is not responsible for JAPANESE Customs & Brokerage Charges and if this is not done properly, your shipment could be delayed until we receive payment for these charges. If the shipment is large enough for commercial airfreight, we must collect estimated tax, duty and customs charges in advance. The commercial value for samples is typically one Euro per bottle and this should be stated on a proforma invoice.
