TUNISIAN OLIVE OIL AT GULFOOD 2019; THE ART OF BEING A TRENDSETTER

PACKTEC and CEPEX are organizing the Tunisian participation at GULFOOD 2019 which will be held in Dubai, from 17 to 21 February, 2019.

Since 2007, Tunisia didn’t miss taking part to GULFOOD. Being one of the world’s largest food events, it is marked by the presence of 97,000 visitors; what a great opportunity for a country that’s looking forward to expand its commercial horizons internationally.

A wide range of high quality olive oils are going to be exposed at the Tunisian pavilion located in the Fats and Oils section - Zabeel Hall “ZL-B4”. STCA Al Jazira, CHO Group, Huilerie Loued, Bizerta Agri Industry, Slama Huiles, Agromed and Cogia- IFFCO will express the art of being a trendsetter in the olive oil world.

The Middle East is one of the most attractive zones for Tunisian olive oil exporting companies given the rising consumption trends in the region. Knowing that the Per capita household expenditure as well as oils and fats consumption are increasing (by 40% from 2010 to 2020), Tunisia is willing to offer its best quality olive oils to foodies and chefs in the region.

A recent report issued by the UAE estimates that the Emirates’ food consumption will reach 59.2 million Tons by 2021 which means that UAE’s food imports are also expected to increase. Tunisian olive oil companies will do their best to meet the demand of the country’s more than 16,500 food outlets and restaurants. Olive oil production reached 325 000 Tons in Tunisia during the last campaign. In fact, 2018 was a record year during which 18456 Tons of bottled olive oil has been exported.

Following the record number of awards won in the most prestigious international olive oil competitions notably New York IOOC, Olive Japan and London IOOC, Tunisia is ready to impulse new consumption trends in the region by putting an emphasis on the benefits that a plant-based ketogenic diet may have on health.

This participation will be marked by the organization of B to B meetings aiming to increase exports as well as a unique Cooking show during which recipes, mainly inspired by a plant-based diet, are going to be exposed.
